At its summit, the elevation is 1686 feet (513 m) amsl and 825 feet (251.5 m) above the surrounding area. Stone Mountain granite extends underground 9 miles at its longest point into Gwinnett County. Numerous reference books and Georgia literature have dubbed Stone Mountain as - "the largest exposed piece of granite in the world". Three figures of the Confederate States of America are carved there: Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, and Jefferson Davis. The summit of the mountain can be reached by a steep walkup trail, which starts near the Confederate Hall and West gate entrance. Alternatively, the summit can be reached by the Skylift. The top of the mountain is a surreal landscape of bare rock and rock pools, and it provides views of the surrounding area including the skyline of downtown Atlanta, often Kennesaw Mountain, and on very clear days even the Appalachian Mountains. On some days, however, the top of the mountain is covered in a heavy fog, and visibility can be limited to only a few feet The mountain's lower slopes are wooded. The rare Georgia oak was first discovered at the summit. Attractions operate on a seasonal schedule. and some attractions are only open during the summer season. On the 12th of November, with the initiative of Georgian Copyright Association and G.Leonidze Georgian National Literature Museum was held the discussion between the Georgian literature creators (writers, poets, screenplay/playwright writers and others) and Georgian publishing houses. The discussion was dedicated to the regulation of the relations between the literature creators and publishers, ways of solution of problems facing to the parties. At the meeting was much time given to the issues of copyright implementation and their protection mechanisms, as well as of the conditions of licensing the printed publications and the role of GCA in this regard. The discussion was lead by Giga Kobaladze - GCA Chairman and Lasha Bakradze - Georgian National Literature Museum Director.

KYC's 1st Kurdish Festival Atlanta GA January 15-17, 2010 3 Days of Nonstop learning and fun Kurdish Festival is a celebration of Kurdish Heritage in the United States. The festival will stretch a spam of three days. During which, Kurds and non-Kurds, from a variety of background and across US will gather in Atlanta, Georgia. The festival will take place during the weekend of Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial on January 15, 16, and 17, 2010. Kurdish Festival will be a gathering to celebrate a heritage that has taken over 8000 years in making. During which many aspects of Kurdish life will be brought to light; from Kurdish film, literature, music, history, dance, and current events. The Festival will also include self-building workshops in leadership, fundraising and conflict management. For the first time, Kurdish festival will bring together education and entertainment and set a new standard. There was an immigration protest in Downtown Atlanta which revealed some shocking discoveries. The speakers spoke almost entirely in Spanish, but a few speakers spoke in English and called for "black, brown, and progressive whites" to stand together and fight the "culture that opposes all things public" A Democrat GA State Representative shamelessly called on the crowd (by definition filled with illegal immigrants), to register and vote! He did not qualify this statement to only include citizens, but clearly was calling for voter fraud. Disclaimer: The text incorrectly states that there was not prayer at this rally. We have since learned that there was prayer shortly before we arrived. text: Conservatives could lampoon an immigration reform rally the way left-wing pundits, commentators, entertainers, and politicians ridicule the tea party movement. Yes, this rally was comprised of nearly all one color participants, or monochromatic as they like to say of us. There were plenty of fat people, and upside down and misspelled signs. The speakers were angry, and the signs were more extreme than Tea Party signs, pathetically so. According to their signs, Arizona and other states and counties have become equal to Apartheid, Nazi Germany, Genocide, and Jim Crow. Really!?! Is this even remotely attached to reality?
