Albert Gustaf Aristides Edelfelt (21 July 1854 18 August 1905) was a Finnish painter. Albert Edelfelt was born in Porvoo, Finland. His father Carl Albert was an architect. Edelfelt admired the poet Johan Ludvig Runeberg, who was a friend of the family. The company of Runeberg had a lasting impact on Edelfelt, who from time to time turned to scenes from Finnish history in his paintings. Edelfelt went on to illustrate Runeberg's epic poem The Tales of Ensign Stål. He studied art in Antwerp (1873 - 1874), Paris (1874 - 1878) and Saint Petersburg (1881 - 1882). He married Baroness (friherinnan) Ellan de la Chapelle in 1888 and they had one child. Edelfelt was one of the first Finnish artists to achieve international fame. He enjoyed considerable success in Paris and was one of the founders of the Realist art movement in Finland. . The Committee of the Europa Authentica Cultural Organization have selected the work of 12 artists off ering an overview of the contemporary art of Finland. Sari Poijärvi shows us urban landscapes and city environments through his photographic artworks. Cata Ahlbäck is a multi-talented artist in the fi eld of contemporary art. Heli Heikkinen is inspired of nature, in her paintings she gives the audience the possibility to feel the harmony of the surroundings. Ismo Jokiaho who have always a story behind the artworks. Kalevi Liski gives us the opportunity to feel the tensions between the shapes and forms. Marjukka Kaminen gives us the pleasure to experi-ence the movements of the fi gures and shapes. Petri Niemelä with realistic expression and Risto Kajo with impressionist style, they are representing the old school among the Finnish artists. Samu Viitanen gives us a big smile through his art, so we can deliberate us from the daily stress and the hated Mondays. Kaj Söderholm takes us on a journey to the exotic places of his fantasy and dreams. Anyway we would like to give the pleasure to the audience to discover the massages of the artists and experience the richness of contemporary Finnish art.

Erkki Määttänen is a documentary filmmaker for the YLE Broadcasting Company in Finland. He created a documentary on the Coffee Artists™, Angel Sarkela-Saur and Andrew Saur and their Coffee Art®. They were creating coffee paintings for another documentary he was making. He was filming Finnish American musicians and for each new segment, he wanted to lead with one of their paintings. It is an innovative incorporation of their Coffee Art® into Erkki's film work. This lead into this documentary based on this artwork. The artwork can be viewed at www.justcoffeeart.com

Enckell, (Knut) Magnus (b Hamina, 9 Nov 1870; d Stockholm, 26 Nov 1925). Finnish painter and designer. He was the leading figure in the generation of Finnish Symbolist artists that included Ellen Thesleff. After studying in Finland he travelled to Paris in 1891 and enrolled at the Académie Julian. He remained in Paris almost uninterruptedly until the spring of 1894. He was immediately attracted by the current in contemporary French painting that modelled itself on primitive art, the work of Pierre Puvis de Chavannes and the work of Manet at the time of his Olympia (1865; Paris, Mus. dOrsay). Enckell was also strongly influenced by the literary mysticism of the Soleil dOr groups and of Joséphin Péladan. He firmly rejected Realism and developed a sculptural and synthetist style, adopting extreme asceticism in his treatment of colour, which was limited almost entirely to various shades of grey, black and ochre. Painted by Merle Sild: landscapes, orchids, flowers.Merle Sild was born in Estonia and has spent the last 11 years living and painting in places such as the USA, Spain, Finland and UK. She has studied in The Art School of Tartu (by talented estonian artists Laine Pukk and Silvia Jo`gever) and in the USA Kaleidoscope Art School, IL, Chicago. In addition, she has gained experience under professional artists in Finland, Estonia and Spain. (favorites Epp Katus and Monica del Norte.) Merle started exhibiting her art in 2004 in Finland and since then she has presented 18 of her exhibitions in Finland, Estonia, Spain and England. In summer 2009 Merle moved to Cambridge and in December 2009 in presented her painting series of "Home is in the Middle of Everything" in the Anglia Ruskin Gallery winterexhibition.. Merle's paintings have been sold to Japan, Australia, Finland, Estonia, Russia, Israel, Spain and England. In 2010 "Mytho" the estonian publishing house released her first novel "References", which talks about the lives of women who work in the homes in North England, their relationships and describes how Alzheimer is handled amongst them. The video will present her paintings of nature, flowers, (mostly fascinated orchids )mysterious landscapes with old castles, views of East Anglia and good emotions in sensational yet humble colours. All her work is like travelling trough the seasons, memories and dreams .
