Even my wife got in on the act . Hey I needed actors and they were rare in Fiji in those days. She was going through the big island hair stage at the time. It was meant to be a classy , love of all things gold jewellery type ad. Jewellery is a shit to shoot when ya only got redehads and blondies and a bit of trace and black foil. We did make a pipe dolly by then and like any new tool it gets used to death until the novelty wears off.

Ramlila, the enactment of the story of Lord Rama is believed to have been started by great Saint Tulsidas. The Ramcharitmanas, written by him till today forms the basis of Ramlila performances. In some places, Ramlila is associated with the Vijayadashmi celebrations in late Sept. & early Oct. and also with Ramnavami, the birthday of Lord Rama. Ramlila, basically an enactment of a myth, is presented as a. cycle-play with the story varying from 7 to 31 days.
