Liturgical chant of the Coptic Orthodox Church "Hos Erouf" A curious custom of the Coptic Church is the liturgy that prays and sings it in Coptic, the original language of ancient Egypt. The Church keeps alive the language of the pharaohs, which was written in hieroglyphics, hieratic and demotic and now a modified version of the Greek alphabet, Egyptian written in Greek and demotic (the Copt) was gradually being forgotten, lost ground to the Arabic and thus became incomprehensible. However, the Coptic Church preserved the ancient Egyptian language by tradition thanks to its rites. This white historian tells the truth concerning Kemet/Egypt. Dont believe the Arabian-Greek-Roman- Malmuk & Ottomon Turk mixed modern day Egyptians. They have done nothing but seek to destroy ancient Kemetic history. If they are the modern day descendants of the ancient Egyptians why dont they speak their Egyptian language. The Nubians in southern Egypt and Sudan still speak their Nubian languages. Why don't the modern Egyptians ? The reason is they aren't the ancient Egyptians. Every ethnic group in Africa has held on to their native tongue but the modern day Egyptians. The Berbers still speak their language. There's enough proof to say the modern day Egyptians are not the descendants of the ancient Egyptians. Only reason I have known for groups of people to totally lose their language is slavery. In Ireland, Scotland, and Wales although the Celtic are still spoken. Why ? because those people are the descendants of the ancient Celts.

I found this prayer on a number of websites, primarily this one: www.kaykeys.net The Prayer is from The Mysteries of Isis: Her Worship and Magick by deTraci Regula. I use this prayer even though I don't just worship Isis. I find a deep connection when I speak the Egyptian language and so this prayer brings me home. I thought that others who use the Egyptian Pantheon or even have an interest in Egypt would like to see and speak this prayer =] x

Athanasius Kircher (1601 or 1602--1680) was a 17th century German Jesuit scholar who published around 40 works, most notably in the fields of oriental studies, geology, and medicine. Kircher has been compared to fellow Jesuit Roger Boscovich and to Leonardo da Vinci for his enormous range of interests, and has been honoured with the title "master of a hundred arts". Kircher was the most famous "decipherer" of hieroglyphs of his day, although most of his assumptions and "translations" in this field have since been disproved as nonsensical. However, he did make an early study of Egyptian hieroglyphs, correctly establishing the link between the ancient Egyptian language and the Coptic language, for which he has been considered the founder of Egyptology. He was also fascinated with Sinology, and wrote an encyclopedia of China, in which he noted the early presence of Nestorian Christians but also attempted to establish more tenuous links with Egypt and Christianity. Kircher's work with geology included studies of volcanos and fossils. One of the first people to observe microbes through a microscope, he was thus ahead of his time in proposing that the plague was caused by an infectious microorganism and in suggesting effective measures to prevent the spread of the disease. Kircher also displayed a keen interest in technology and mechanical inventions, and inventions attributed to him include a magnetic clock, various automatons and the first megaphone.
