La Chalderon is the name for a lagoon that has a waterfall that churns the water so much that it resembles a boiling "cauldron"....thus Chalderon. The language of Dominica is Patois, a bastardized version of French The intro/outro music track is in Patois...a "riddm" style Video dedication: Adam and Loan Kline, Lynette Thuma, Margaret Nguyen...and to all my Rossmates. This is the ONLY video footage that I know of that features Adam and I hanging out on the island. Adam and I spent a lot of time together: working out, at church doing the music, studying, him cooking for me, swimming in ocean currents, catamaran adventures, drinking protein shakes, watching TV and most wonderfully, praying the rosary in classroom 1 and in his room. He's one of my dearest friends. He's the only man who really supported my efforts in reducing my cuss words by sublimating F-bombs into emphatic exclamations of "MONKEYS!!!" Loan, also my classmate, is an amazing mother of three and a pediatrician that turned out to be Adam's wife and is Sharmila's good friend also! Lynette is a wonderful young lady who does her best to do God's work, but she'd never tell you about it. She's devoted the last few years to the impoverished in various third world locations. I feel honoured to be her friend. She's a true beautiful diamond in the rough. Margaret loves being behind her SLR, but not so much in front of cameras. Approximately 30000 Haitian children are illegally smuggled into the Dominican Republic every year. (UN/OAS). In this video, Haitian children that were trafficked to Dominican Republic are telling their stories. The half hour documentary uploaded to Youtube in two (2) parts was produced in 2008 and forms part of Panos Caribbean's advocacy work in the region to highlight issues affecting children with an aim to have their rights protected. "The video is one of the key tools that Panos Caribbean use to raise awareness among policy makers via the media. The testimonies were collected by the children & young people themselves after receiving training from Panos Caribbean. Human trafficking has always been contentious between Haiti and the DR and is affecting particularly children, depriving them of their liberty and their childhood. The language spoken in the video is Kreyol, the native language of Haiti with sub-titles in English.

The Commonwealth of Dominica (pronounced Domineeca) should not be confused with the Spanish speaking Dominican Republic. The official language is ENGLISH. Dominica is nestled between the French Islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique in the Caribbeans eastern chain of Windward Isles.
