Danish Language and Culture is highly recommended for all students. DIS offers regular 3-credit courses taught at levels I (fall and spring) and II (spring), and intensive 6-credit courses taught at levels I-II (fall and spring) and III-IV (spring). More advanced courses are offered for individual students. As for the language instruction, the emphasis is on everyday spoken Danish. The goal is to enable you to have small conversations in Danish with your Danish host families, Danish roommates, or friends at the 'kollegium.' A successful learning process depends on active participation -- not only in class but also outside the classroom. During your stay, you will have unique opportunities to use your Danish and to observe and reflect on different cultural issues. All of which you are encouraged to bring into the classroom discussions.

For example the shops are closing very early and a lot of Danish young people are going out and like to drink a lot and around 1 o'clock they become outgoing.. Highlights from Miss Africa Denmark 2007. A show featuring African Footprints, Moussa Diallo, Katamanto Highlife, Kuku Agami, Sylvester, Hausfraus and of course the 13 faboulous contestants. The event took place on 19th May. The ticket fees (DKK 60000) from the event were in total donated to Danish Red Cross. The overall purpose of the Miss Africa Denmark event is to gather all interested Africans, Danes and other friends of Africa in a celebration of the beauty and rich diversity of African culture. African culture has a lot to offer -- also here in the Nordic countries. Miss Africa DK is not a traditional model- or beauty contest. Miss Africa is an ambassador of diversity and a positive role model. She helps extend peoples knowledge of Africa, and she bridges Danish and African culture. Miss Africa has something at heart and her positive personality voices the causes that she is passionately committed to. Audition for Miss Africa DK 2008 is held in February. The PROUT Global Convention that was held at Ananda Gaorii Master Unit in Denmark, from July 20th to 27th 2009, was simply a great success. There was a tremendous sense of unity, brotherhood/sisterhood, among the participants. There were 252 people from 27 countries and every continent was represented. The number of participants was more than double the expected attendance, due to the widespread speculation as to the value and even the legitimacy of the convention, which generated such a heightened sense of anticipation that resulted in such exceedingly high attendance. Everyone felt the urgency to restore the broken unity of all Ananda Margiis. The overall message for the quarrelling camps was: enough is enough, we want our Marga family to be re-united then and now! At least that unity was possible during the Convention, with participants coming from different groups and affiliations and who had not been together in an Ananda Marga function for years. It was an incredible experience of joy, fun, devotion, ideological flow and a genuine interest for PROUT. The scenario could not be better than the beautifully renovated Ananda Gaorii Master Unit with its lawns and gardens, apple and cherry trees, some 12 km from the beach and one hour ride from Copenhagen. The participants decided to hold each year a PROUT Convention at Ananda Gaorii Master Unit and agreed that the next one will be from July 20th to 25th 2010.
