Vaclav Havel, the playwright-turned-politician who served as the last president of Czechoslovakia and first president of the Czech Republic, has died at age 75. Havel, a former chain-smoker who suffered breathing difficulties, died on Sunday morning at his weekend house in the northern Czech Republic. As a dissident playwright, Havel wove theatre into politics to peacefully bring down communism in Czechoslovakia and become a hero of the epic struggle that ended the Cold War. Al Jazeera's Simon McGregor-Wood reports.

Czech movie depicting the events surrounding the assasination of Reinhard Heydrich on May 27, 1942. It is more historically accurate that the American version "Operation Daybreak", although not perfect in all details. Probably due to respect to victims of these events, names of the resistance members are changed and the parachutists figure under their illegal names. Plot line: On June 16 1942, Karel Curda from the group OUT DISTANCE betrayed his fellows, who commited the assasination of Reinhard Heydrich, and informed the Gestapo in Prague. Although he himself didn't know the exact place of their refuge, he revealed names of many resistance members and the following wave of arrests and brutal interrogations eventually led the gestapo to the Church of St. Cyril and Method in Prague. In the early morning on June 18, 1942, roughly 800 German soldiers surrounded the church and began a many hours'lasting siege of 7 parachutists - Adolf Opalka, Jan Kubis, Jozef Gabcik, Jaroslav Svarc, Josef Valcik, Josef Bublik and Jan Hruby. Opalka, Bublik and Kubis decided to defend the ground floor of the church, hoping that their four colleagues hidden in the crypt would escape the attention of the Nazis or got out of there via a drainage system. More than 850 MILSIM and airsoft players from 18 European countries have met in this years major MILSIM event in central Europe -- Border war 3 - The Battle of Gubatan,that was held in Czech Republic. The scenario brought all participants into the lush jungles of the Bocalan island where the final battle over Gubatan province between governmental troops (TF 538) and radical Black cobra insurgents took place from 6th to 8th May 2011. The event continued nonstop for 32 hours where the players were exposed to intensive infantry ops during the day and in the night, containing plenty of tactical MILSIM scenario missions. The game area used for the event was around 9 square kilometres and contained abandoned fortifications, deep forests, marshes, steep hills as well as a few streams and ponds. Game play was enriched with the El Pescado Village, a set that was created by more than 100 LARP (Life Action Role Playing) enthusiasts, together with more than 24 military vehicles brought over by the players.
