Radůza is my favourite Czech female singer as Schikaneder is one of my most beloved Czech painters. Radůza - young composer, singer, accordeonist, piano player....all she sings goes straightly from her heart so this is typical Slavonic performance with a special taste of melancholy...the psychological, mysterious even sad paintings of Schikaneder fit to this song... Jakub Schikaneder (1855-1924) was a Czech painter, known for his soft paintings of the outdoors, often lonely in mood.

Something for Radůza´s fans who don´t speak Czech - here is she (as mostly she does with many languages, but unfortunately not on my recordings) alternating Czech with French strokes. I am very pleased her art is so appreciated by my English speaking friends - but really am not capable to translate her lyrics because of great respect .....they are so special (only if somebody cares I send him/her personally at least "the meaning" of some songs...) But - nevertheless - the best art is touching soul even not understanding all words...isn´t it? Radůza is the best young Czech composer, poet, multiinstrumentalist and female singer. Her songs are extremely powerful, they differ each from other ; she can express great passions even pathos (mostly playing accordeon or guitar) and on the other hand she´s lyrical, tender and fragile playing piano like in this song. Antonín Slavíček (1870-1910), famous Czech painter, founder of Czech modern visual art. He loved and often painted Czech Highlands, beautiful harsh area nearby Brno, the city where I live...At the age of 39 years he unexpectedly became completely paralysed. Being aware he could´t paint anymore he killed himself with a gun.

The Czech Republic is recalling loaned art as quickly as possible, after a Vienna court confiscated two paintings and a bronze as security in a legal battle.A Liechtenstein pharmaceuticals firm has demanded 370 million euros in damages from the Czech Republic. It argued it had been excluded from a Czech government contract during the 1990s. A Paris court upheld the claim. But the Czech government refuses to acknowledge the verdict. After the seizure of artwork from the Belvedere Museum in Vienna, the Czech Republic is quickly rounding up all works out on loan and bringing them back to the country.

VIDEO CREATED by ELIA IGLESIAS ~ Alphonse Maria Mucha (24 July 1860 14 July 1939) was a Czech Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist. He was born in the town of Ivančice, Moravia (today's region of Czech Republic). His singing abilities allowed him to continue his education through high school in the Moravian capital of Brno, even though drawing had been his first love since childhood. He worked at decorative painting jobs in Moravia, mostly painting theatrical scenery, then in 1879 moved to Vienna to work for a leading Viennese theatrical design company, while informally furthering his artistic education. When a fire destroyed his employer's business in 1881 he returned to Moravia, doing freelance decorative and portrait painting. Count Karl Khuen of Mikulov hired Mucha to decorate Hrušovany Emmahof Castle with murals, and was impressed enough that he agreed to sponsor Mucha's formal training at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts. Mucha moved to Paris in 1887, and continued his studies at Académie Julian and Académie Colarossi while also producing magazine and advertising illustrations. Around Christmas 1894, Mucha happened to drop into a print shop where there was a sudden and unexpected demand for a new poster to advertise a play starring Sarah Bernhardt, the most famous actress in Paris, at the Théâtre de la Renaissance. Mucha volunteered to produce a lithographed poster within two weeks, and on 1 January 1895, the advertisement for Gismonda appeared on the streets of ...

Alphonse Mucha (1860 - 1939) is the visionary master of Art Nouveau. Born in what is now known as the Czech Republic, Mucha had his artistic breakthrough in Paris in 1895 with his posters of the world famous actress Sarah Bernhardt. Mucha's extensive work consists of prints, paintings, drawings and design objects of global fame. Since 1910, Charles R. Crane, an American millionnaire financed the highlight of Mucha's artistic work: "The Slav Epic". This is for Avalonroad, a Mucha admirer. Alphonse Mucha, born in Moravia in 1860, was a Czech Art Nouveau painter who specialized in images of women, including advertisements and posters. He took a job painting theatrical scenery while still a youth, then went to Paris in 1887 to study at the Academie Julian and the Academie Colarossi. In 1894, he chanced to drop by a print shop that was desperate for a new poster to advertise the appearance of Sarah Bernhardt in a play called Gismonda. Mucha volunteered to get one ready in two weeks. When it appeared, it was a sensation, and his career was launched. As World War II approached, Mucha's art was declared "reactionary" by the Nazis, and when Czechoslovakia fell, the Gestapo pulled him in. During the course of his interrogation, he fell ill with pneumonia. He was eventually released by the Nazis, but he died in Prague a couple of months later, on July 14, 1939. Music is Antonin Dvorak's "Slavonic Dances, Op. 46."
