A mobile cell call rings to Nikola Kraljic, the biggest Croatian Chacavian poet, born in 1930, while he is fishing squids in his boat in the Omisalj Bay, Island of Krk. The Faculty of Philosophy Zagreb Dean calls to tell him that his Graduation Diploma from 1964 was found, while cleaning the Faculty Archive's files. The Diploma has never been given. Kraljic has three days to decide whether he wants to go and get his Diploma. During these three days we follow the poet through his everyday routine and come to know about his past and present and mostly he is introduced to us as a poet. During these three days Kraljić travels to three places that are his life.basis, and at last he goes to get the Diploma. Various literary critics and the poets' friends talk during the film, and with their comments they get the auditorium to know the person and the work of Nikola Kraljic. What makes an artist to create his work? Can a poem literaly describe the poet who has written it? Can we define youth by date of birth? Is it ever too late to pick up your own "Diploma"? These are some questions that the film is trying to answer through maestral sense of life of a Croatian poet.....

Karla Perhat, the 8th grade pupil of Pujanke Elementary School in Split, Croatia, recites the poem from the NECKLACE V of Tin Ujevic, translated by Dasa Maric & Richard Burns. TIN UJEVIC (1891-1955) is one of the greatest lyric poets of Croatia in the 20th century, yet hardly translated at all in English. His Collected Works number 16 volumes. Most poems come from his sequence The Necklace (1926).
