Everyone knows that a red & white checkerboard is Croatian National Symbol. But, do you know how this symbol came to be what it is? After researching this subject I was amazed how educational and especially entertaining the history of Croatia as a whole is. Croatian checkerboard went throughout twists & turns for centuries. Today if we look at the 2001 census of Croatia from 2001 there are 201.631 thousand Serbs living in Croatia. So why is that important? There used to be a lot more. They say that the conflict between Serbs & Croats is centuries old & dates back to the middle ages, but that just is not true. The Serbs & Croats were even allies against Hungarian domination. It only since the late 17th & early 18th centuries when the first major disagreements occurred & the former allies (with help of some foreign intervention) became enemies. On of the major disagreements was the ever changing demographics in the territory that comprises todays Croatia. This movie is about those changes. It did not have operational gas chambers, meaning that the camp prisoners were executed in front of the firing squads, or having being subjected to the horror executions by the Croatian nazi ustase humans butchers. The acts of murder and cruelty in the camp reached their peak in the late summer of 1942, when tens of thousands of Serbian villagers were deported to Jasenovac from the area where ustase and Nazis have been fighting against the partisans, in the area of Kozara mountains (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Most of deported men were brutally killed at Jasenovac. The women, who haven't been killed, were sent to forced labor camps in Germany, children were taken from their mothers: some were murdered and others were dispersed in orphanages throughout the country. The names of some 20000 murdered children of all three nationalities collected, thus far by historians, provides only a hint of the scale of the crimes committed there against children. www.mysteryhistory.tv A six-year-old Croatian boy astounds his family and friends with his 'magnetic' body. Ivan Stoiljkovic is reportedly able to stick metallic objects such as spoons, mobile phones and even frying pans to his body. And his family, who live in a village near Koprivnica, say he can carry up to 25kg of metal stuck to his torso at a time. He demonstrated his special talent to local journalists by taking off his shirt and sticking cutlery, a frying pan and even dumbbells to his body. And his family claim he also has the ability to heal people with his hands, alleviating his grandfather's stomach pains and taking away the pain of a neighbour who hurt his leg in a tractor accident. Ivan's grandfather, Ivo Stoiljkovic, said when his grandson laid his hands on his stomach they became extremely hot and the pain simply went away. Ivan is also said to be much stronger than other children his age and is able to easily carry bags of cement as heavy as 50lbs.

World renound professor Milan Šuflay was an expert on medieval Croatian history and Albanian history. In a lot of articles by Dr. Milan Šufflay (1879-1931) - a famous scholar in his day - it is easy to find a leitmotiv for the central thesis about British predominance in the world and reasons for British political behaviour. Šufflay outlined the contents and quoted from the book "The Day of The Saxons", written by Homer Lea and published in London in 1912. In this book, called by Šufflay 'the New Testament of the British world politics', there are two striking axioms: "...The first, is that anything that happens in any part of the world directly influences Great Britain. The second, is that the loss of India, after the loss of the British Isles, would be the greatest blow for the Empire..." So wrote Šufflay in his article "The British Empire" (p. 219, Dr. Milan Šufflay, Selected Essays, Vol. 2, Publications of Darko Sagrak, Zagreb 2000). In further texts, it becomes clear why the eyes of the Serbs are always turned in the direction of London, towards the creators of Yugoslavia (as described in Šufflay's article "Over The Abyss of The Two Worlds", published in "Hrvatsko Pravo" on 29th June, 1929). In this article Šufflay was the first to point his finger at the real creators of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, namely the Englishmen Wickham Steed and Seton Watson, (Šufflay, Selected Essays, Vol. 1, Zagreb 1999). Hungary and Croatia were "partner lands" of the same Kingdom for more than 800 years. Hungarians and Croats share a collective memory of their common history which was mainly a positive experience. With some exceptional episodes of conflicts, we can say that Croatia and Hungary have much more to share in their collective historic memory than other Central and Eastern European nations. The positive image of each-other certainly lead to a strong political and economic partnership in the late 20th, early 21th century. Hungary was one of the first European states that recognized and actively helped Croatian independence after Yugoslavia collapsed. Former Hungarian PM Antall József and his government pro-actively helped Croatia's cause not only in the international arena but also through Hungary's strong involvement in strengthening Croatia's military potential against Yugoslav (Serbian) aggression. Hungary's friendly support contributed to further development of strategic partnership with Croatia based on historic alliance and sympathy. My video is a contribution to this alliance.
