SEA SHEPHERD STATEMENT - MAY 13 2012: Captain Paul Watson was arrested yesterday in Germany for extradition to Costa Rica. The German police have said that the warrant for Captain Watson's arrest is in response to an alleged violation of ships traffic in Costa Rica, which occurred during the filming of Sharkwater in 2002. The specific "violation of ships traffic" incident took place on the high seas in Guatemalan waters, when Sea Shepherd encountered an illegal shark finning operation, run by a Costa Rican ship called the Varadero. On order of the Guatemalan authorities, Sea Shepherd instructed the crew of the Varadero to cease their shark finning activities and head back to port to be prosecuted. While escorting the Varadero back to port, the tables were turned and a Guatemalan gunboat was dispatched to intercept the Sea Shepherd crew. The crew of the Varadero accused the Sea Shepherds of trying to kill them, while the video evidence proves this to be a fallacy. To avoid the Guatemalan gunboat, Sea Shepherd then set sail for Costa Rica, where they uncovered even more illegal shark finning activities in the form of dried shark fins by the thousands on the roofs of industrial buildings. Conservationists around the world maintain hope that the Costa Ricans will drop the charges against Captain Watson. Just as trading requires a prudent risk management plan to determine how much capital is at risk on each trade etc. growing your capital over the long term requires some common sense guidelines. Regardless of what kind of Forex trading strategy you use and whether you use technical analysis, fundamental analysis or even an automated trading system or Forex trading robot (if there are actually any that exist that really work) when you finally achieve consistent increase in capital you want to make sure that you always maintain that increase and that you never kill the goose that is laying those golden eggs. That is, make sure you don't destroy your capital by taking out money too soon or in too large of amounts. A general rule could be to only take out less than 50% of your monthly profits so that your capital is still increasing and therefore the amount you can take out will steadily increase as well. If you need money to use for your living expenses and you take out the entire monthly profits your account will stay the same size at best and could decrease at times if you have a difficult month of trading. DemocracyNow.org - Captain Paul Watson, founder of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, has been released on bail in Germany following his arrest for possible extradition to Costa Rica on decade-old charges stemming from a confrontation between a Sea Shepherd vessel with shark fin poachers off the coast of Guatemala. Sea Shepherd is known for using nonviolent direct action to enforce international fishing and conservation laws, and has been highly recognized for its anti-whaling efforts. Sea Shepherd continues to maintain that Watson's arrest was politically motivated and is calling on its supporters to come together in a day of action on Wednesday when the Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla visits Germany. Watson joins us from Frankfurt. "We've never injured anybody," Watson says. "The most powerful weapon in the world as far as I'm concerned is the camera, so we go into battle armed with cameras. ... Right now 19 million sharks a year are being destroyed to feed the shark fin industry in Asia. And that means the fins are cut off of these animals and they're thrown back into the ocean, and this is what we filmed off of Guatemala and this is what we intervened against -- a highly illegal operation."
