We went to such far-flung locales as the Pygmy villages of the Congo, the radioactive ruins of Chernobyl, and the bomb-pocked refugee camps of Beirut so that you never, ever have to go for yourself as long as you live. We took cameras so that we could prove that we went.

Virunga is home to roughly of a quarter of the world's population of the extremely endangered mountain gorillas. In fact, we agreed so hard that we decided to go to Uganda with Edun Live in order to see some living mountain gorillas for ourselves. This is our story.

Souces as reputable as Scientific American and the BBC believe that there may still be dinosaurs in the most remote jungles of the Congo. We sent some amateur cryptozoologists out there to look for the creature the local pygmies call Mokele-mbembe, or "he who stops the flow of rivers." What they ended up experiencing in the Heart of Darkness has to be seen to be believed.

July 2006 The militias, formed during Congo's civil war, now control much of the country's natural resources. The government faces a big problem disarming them. The war may officially be over, but the militias remain. "Gold is the reason why every year, we have war and rebellions", states Ngabu Adirodu. It is still too dangerous for aid workers to travel without military escorts. The population is trapped between rival militias and the new army and many towns have been deserted. As one man states: "We are as afraid of the army as the militias."
