Lobster and Crab from the Congo Restaurant in Panama's Isla Grande. It was about a two hour car ride from the city and a 15 minute boat ride from the coast. The food was well worth it. I strongly recommend.

[Africans must summon the effort to conquer poverty and with this, Africa will be productive. All the possibilities and potential are there in natural resources that could prevent persistent poverty. African leaders must understand that outside of social, economic, cultural, political, and climate-induced causes, it is poverty that has the most to do with malnutrition and misery in thousands of people. Poverty is the direct cause of malnutrition, which brings other consequences with it. Someone who is starving cannot work. Africans must understand that they bear the heavy responsibility of raising the incomes of individuals and families to an acceptable level so that they can take care of basic needs. This means supplying affordable housing through the creation of a housing policy, jobs, education, and food. Malnutrition is dramatic in Africa and its vast reach must call African leaders to action. The Market Analysis and Development (MA&D) approach, developed by FAO, provides a training framework for local people to enhance small forest enterprises development, by which means they can improve their cash income. Within the context of a project funded by the EU, FAO has introduced the MA&D approach in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), training communities dependant upon non-wood forest products like honey, fruits like "safou" (dacryodes edulis), edible leaves including "fumbwa" (gnetum Africana) and many others. In this video, two of the local facilitators will talk about some of the experiences from the application of MA&D in Bas Congo. Women for Women International's Commercially Intergerated Farming Initiative (CIFI) trains women in organic farming techniques for commercial food production in Rwanda, DRC, Nigeria, South Sudan and Afghanistan.
