But, how lucky we are that they were because it's from those vineyards that we derive perhaps the finest dessert wine in the world-port. As concentrated and long-lived as any wine produced, port has many styles and expressions. We'll visit the bodegas in the Duoro Valley and the huge cellars in the coastal city of Oporto. We've had them as a kid, and probably feed them to our kids now, but have you ever seen what goes into producing a raisin? You will now. From the fields to the table, we'll take you inside one of California's most famous agricultural products. They start as grapes on the vines, then end up drying in the field, before being processed and sent around the world. In the home kitchen of a raisin growers' wife, we'll make fritters and cinnamon raisin rolls. Then, at Echo, one of the best restaurants in Central California, it's quail with a raisin stuffing. We'll even have an appearance from one of the famous Dancing Raisins. What can be better than that!

Borneo is the third largest island in the world and the northern region that comprises Sarawak and Sabah has been part of the Malaysian Federation since 1963. A hidden paradise, mysterious and unknown. We begin our journey in Sarawak in the north west of the island, in the capital, Kuching. The Sarawak River divides the city in two and on one of the banks are the buildings of Kampung Boyan, an old water town. Situated on a hill is Fort Margarita that dates back to 1841. We visit a village of the Bidayum Tribe and to the border of the South Indonesian section of the island. The Bidayum live in traditional long houses and survive from agriculture and river fishing. The long houses measure up to a hundred and fifty metres in length and are inhabited by several families. Between Sarawak and Sabah is the tiny sultanate of Brunei Darussalm whose capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, looks like something from an exotic fantasy. In the north east of Sabah is the majestic Mount Kinabalu, at more than thirteen thousand feet above sea level the highest mountain between the Himalayas and New Guinea. Borneo is a country of natural wonder, full of adventure. A land of head hunters, mysterious cultures and exotic wildlife and an island far off the main tourist trail. A veritable hidden paradise set amid the South China Sea.

Full Circle with Michael Palin Episode 2 Part 1 Episode Two: Japan/Korea Michael begins his time in Japan at Sado Island, where he meets the famous Kodō drummers. He participates in a morning run with drummer hopefuls and then takes his shot at the largest drum. Then it is on to Tokyo, where he meets up with Mayumi Nobetsu, a Japanese Monty Python fan. They tour the Asakusa neighborhood where they decide to bet on a horse race. Michael and Mayumi strike gold with a horse named Super License. The two also eat a restaurant where the specialty is loaches who have been fed sake, the popular Japanese rice wine. Afterwards, they catch a punk rock concert in Yoyogi Park. Catching the shinkansen to Fukuyama, he takes in a Zen Buddhist meditation session at Buttsuji Temple. During the meditation session in the Zendo, he is struck by a keisaku, which is used to keep meditators from lulling off to sleep. In Nagasaki, he visits Huis ten Bosch, a Dutch-themed park set to symbolize old trading ties with the Dutch. After catching a ferry to Busan in South Korea, he meets up with Shin-Na, a journalist in the capital of Seoul. Shin-Na explains to him that there still exists animosity between Koreans and the Japanese, none more evident than in the fact that most Japanese cultural items are still banned in Korea. In Southern Tuscany, we'll expore the region of Brunello di Montalcino where we find Il Poggione, one of the area's great estates. More nearly 100 years Il Poggione has been crafting its wines, some of the best expressions of the native Sangiovese grape anywhere. We'll sample those wines, learn of the history of the estate, and cap it all of with an incredible six-course luncheon pairing the wines of Il Poggione to the cuisine of the region.
