The joint exercise, spread over a period of two weeks, is aimed at sharing mutual exchange of experience and information through a comprehensive training programme in real time. This exercise is fourth in the series in which Special Forces from both sides will participates. Exercise YOUYI-IV is a Brigade level joint exercise between the two armies. Chinese Army being well equipped and highly technical in nature is very meticulous, keen and equally professional in their approach. During last joint exercise in China they demonstrated high sense of professionalism and friendship towards Pakistan. Exercise YOUYI which literally translates "FRIENDSHIP" between two countries started in 2004. So far three exercises have been conducted including two in China and one in Pakistan. These exercises were mandated to boost existing professional relationship between the two friendly Armies. China on Tuesday voiced "firm opposition" to the Philippines' move to draw a third party into the incident over Huangyan Island. The move will "further escalate the situation and even change the nature of the issue," Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said during a routine press briefing. A recent Philippine media report quoted the country's foreign affairs secretary as saying that some countries are helping the Philippines to establish a "minimum credible defense posture" to complement its diplomatic capacity in dealing with territorial disputes with China. When asked to comment on the report, Hong said China has consistently used diplomatic means to urge the Philippines to correct its mistakes and ease the situation and facilitate the normal development of bilateral ties. In another development, Hong condemned a terrorist suicidal bombing that occurred the day before in Yemen's capital Sana'a. Russian airborne troops are set to train how to target terrorists in America as part of a joint anti-terror drill with the United States which will take place in Fort Carson, Colorado at the end of next month. "Airborne troops from Russia and the United States would hold joint anti-terror drills in the US state of Colorado between May 24 and 31," reports the Xinhua news agency, citing Russian Defense Ministry Col. Alexander Kucherenko. The story was also reported by Russian news outlet RIA Novosti. The exercises, which will mark the first time the respective country's two airborne forces have held joint drills on US territory, will revolve around the the "reconnaissance of imaginary terrorists' camp and a raid," and will also involve evacuations of the troops by helicopter. The Russian soldiers will also be given access to US special service weapons at Fort Carson. However, the Russian troops won't just be confined to a US military base -- on May 27 they'll be out in the local community attending a baseball game in Colorado Springs. "This announcement comes at a time when Russia actually has troops working in cooperation with China," points out Business Insider's Eloise Lee, making reference to one of the largest ever Russian-Sino naval drills currently underway in the Yellow Sea. Senior officials from the two armies have arrived in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, in northwest China, to observe the final exercise. Years of preparation and seven days of training, the 2010 Chinese and Pakistani joint military drill has entered its final stage. The final showdown of the live-fire drill involves locating terrorists with global positioning devices, launching air-strikes and hostage rescue operations, which could be the most difficult task. A so-called three-dimensional attack is another highlight in Friday's counter-terrorism exercise. The Air Force is helping out with transport helicopters, armed helicopters and fighter bombers. They are joining ground troops in the scenario as more and more terrorists seek refuge in mountains. Code named "Friendship-2010," the drill is the third of its kind between China and Pakistan in six years. A total of 226 border soldiers from the two countries participated. During this year's drill, the two armies shared "state of the art" anti-terror weaponry. Pakistan-China Joint Military Exercise aimed at sharing and enhancing expertise of both armies in countering terrorism. Exercise 'Friendship-IV' was a brigade level joint counter terrorism training between two armies. Troops of special services group of the both countries practiced airborne jumps, heli lifting of the troops and assault on the target during the exercise. It is worth mentioning here that the joint exercise aims at familiarisation and sharing of information through an inclusive training programme in real time. This will also include collective training at unit and brigade level to observe drills and procedures in low intensity conflict operations. The exercise will enhance the battle competence, of participating troops against intimidation operations.

Commander Wang Guosheng made these remarks at the opening ceremony of the China and Pakistan joint anti-terrorism drill that started in Qingtongxia in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region on Saturday, state media reported. The drill, code-named "Friendship-2010," is the third of its kind between the two countries. More than 200 people, including soldier participants and military spectators, attended the opening ceremony of the drill. Commander Wang said the drill would also help promoting military understanding and mutual trust, enhancing military exchanges and cooperation between the two sides. Lieutenant General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Chief of the General Staff of the Pakistan Army, speaking on the occasion said Pakistan and China had all-weather friendship, which could transcend borders and have enjoyed popular support. An impressive closing ceremony of two weeks long Pak-China Joint Military Exercise" Friendship-IV-2011 was held on Thursday.
