A mosque known for radical views on Islam has received extensive foreign investment from the Islamic Development Bank in Saudi Arabia and other unknown donors. Documents show the Jeddah-based bank has fronted the mosque $650000 since 1999. But it's controversial imam Aly Hindy's recent comments before his congregation -- that homosexuality was "invented" and is "garbage" -- that has the phone at Salaheddin Islamic Centre ringing off the hook. But the Muslim cleric, who is known for contentious vernacular, was not around Friday morning to pick it up. "For sure, there have been a lot of calls," a man at the east-end mosque said, though he declined to identify himself. "Lots of people have called." But, he said, Hindy has no plans to deal with any of the queries today. "He is out of town," he said, adding he wasn't sure where other than it is somewhere in Canada. Meanwhile, the latest comments by Hindy, an engineer who came to Canada in 1975 and once worked for Ontario Hydro, have stirred the pot. "He's always saying something," said one mosque member who also chose to remain anonymous. He added that Hindy's criticisms of homosexuality and Canada's laws pertaining to sexuality are his alone and don't reflect the attitude of the mosque. "We don't have to answer to it. He does." Dutch TV show after Canadian writer Irshad Manji and MP Tofik Dibi, both Liberal gay Muslims, talk about how they were attacked by Islamic extremists in the Netherlands. Here is the story; Manji and Dibi talk on Dutch television program Pauw & Witteman about the incident: An Islamist group called for a Muslim lesbian author to be killed and invaded a discussion on Islam in Amsterdam last week. A December 8 debate, which included the Canadian Muslim lesbian author Irshad Manji and MP Tofik Dibi on a panel, was disrupted when extremists from the group Sharia4Belgium stormed the event, held at the De Balie theater in Amsterdam. The mob threw eggs and called for Manji's neck to be broken. The group of about 20 men and boys arrived halfway through the evening, chanted slogans and pelted the audience with eggs. A police mobile unit had to be called to eject the rioters, and two Belgian men aged 19 and 22 were arrested. The people who disrupted the debate were members of the Belgian group Sharia4Belgium, an offshoot of Sharia4Holland. Irshad Manji has experienced death threats for several years since her outspoken attack on traditional Islam in her book The Trouble with Islam Today. Dibi is a young, gay Dutch-Moroccan GreenLeft (GroenLinks) MP. As some European leaders demonstrate a celebratory mood over the violent death of Colonel Gaddafi, they are no less terrorists themselves, claims international consultant and author Adrian Salbuchi. Salbuchi said Gaddafi's death was undoubtedly a message for the whole world, as it is not just about Libya. "We are seeing how Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State expressed it very clearly: 'We came, we saw, he died,' and then started laughing. This is a message to the world of how this new world order model actually works," he stated. "When they decide to change the regime, they do so with the utmost violence, and it is a whole model. First they target a country by calling it a rogue state; then they support local terrorists and call them freedom fighters; then they bring death and destruction upon civilians and they call it UN sanctions. Then they spread lies and call it the International Community's opinion expressed by the Western media.
