September 10th the Siem Reap River, which flows through Siem Reap and next to the Old Market area, spilled out of its banks. By September 11, hotels had sandbagged their doors and most of the Old Market was empty due to flooding. Tourists headed to Angkor Wat will have to roll up their pants legs. Tap water has likely been exposed, so it is critically important travelers take water precautions like not using tap water to brush their teeth and avoiding uncooked vegetables.
