Striving to make a living and eat during a slow economy, Cambodian farmers in Kandal province said this week they continue to use whatever pesticides they can affordably obtain and that they often spray without wearing protective masks and gloves. Cambodia's Ministry of Agriculture is running a campaign to increase awareness about pesticide use. FAO European Union (EU) Food Facility Project -- Cambodia: Fishing for the Future

Fishing for the Future is a short film documentary elaborating one of components of the FAO European Union (EU) Food Facility Project activities in Cambodia. The film captures own-family-fish-pond culture which the project has been supported through provision of fingerlings, prawn larvae, lime and training to Cambodian farmers. The film also features community fish refuge ponds which the project supports through rehabilitation and committee set up and training. The FAO European Union Food Facility Project entitled "Improve the food security of farming families affected by volatile food prices", funded by the European Union, aims at reducing the effects of volatile food prices through the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
