Miladinov Brothers and their identity. en.wikipedia.org The Miladinov Brothers (Bulgarian: Братя Миладинови, Bratya Miladinovi, Vardar: Браќа Миладиновци, Brakja Miladinovci), Dimitar Miladinov (1810--1862) and Konstantin Miladinov (1830--1862), were Bulgarian poets and folklorists from Vardarska, authors of an important collection of folk songs, Bulgarian Folk Songs. In their writings, they self identified as Bulgarians, though besides contributing to Bulgarian literature, in Fyrom they are also thought to have laid the foundation of the Vardar literary tradition. The collection Bulgarian Folk Songs includes a total of 665 songs and 23559 verses. Another famous poem by Konstantin Miladinov is Tǎga za Jug (Тъга за юг), that he wrote during his stay in Russia. Their hometown hosts the international Struga Poetry Evenings festival in their honour including a poetry award named after them. Some argue that the Miladinov brothers mark the highest achievement of the Bulgarian folklore studies in the period of the Bulgarian National Revival with the richness and variety of the songs. Konstantin Miladinov, at the time of his youth, the universal belief was that the Bulgars had camped on the banks of the legendary river, had crossed it on their way to the Balkans and the origin of the name Bulgarians had come from the Russian River - Volga. In a letter to Georgi Genov, Himekami wrote: "I would like to express my greatest gratitude for your commitment to my project. My deepest desire is you to sing the songs with Bulgarian ornaments and to introduce Bulgarian elements into them. Sudents commemorating Vasil Levski ' s Life - he works hard in establishing revolutionary commitees all over Bulgaria. They become April Rebelion foundation - 1876. Vasil Levski receives death sentence by the Turkish government, ruling Bulgaria at the time. He dies in 1873 - only 36 yrs old. Hristo Botev and Vasil Levski are the most celebrated Bulgarian National Icons of the 19 and 20 century. They continue inspiring the young and elderly Bulgarians.

Peyo Yavorov (1878 - 1914)Bulgarian poet and dramatist, the founder of the Symbolist movement in Bulgarian poetry. Yavorov took part in the preparation of the ill-fated Macedonian uprising against Ottoman hegemony in August 1903, edited revolutionary papers, and crossed twice into Macedonia with partisan bands. He was e very close friend to the IMORO leaders Goce Delchev and Todor Alexandrov. He committed suicide at the age of 36.
