♫ Brunei National Anthem ♫
Duration : 67 Seconds

Although a tiny state with a small population, Brunei has one of the highest standards of living in the world thanks to sizeable deposits of oil and gas. Situated on the northern coast of Borneo in South-East Asia, Brunei is a heavily forested state where visitors will encounter the grandeur of Islamic architecture and royal tradition. Architectural treasures include the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, with its gleaming gold dome. ********** This description is from WORLDTRAVELGUIDE. Melayu Islam Beraja
Duration : 264 Seconds

Synopsis Melayu Islam Beraja (Malay Islamic Monarchy, MIB; Jawi: ملايو اسلام براجا) is the adopted national philosophy of Negara Brunei Darussalam. MIB was officially proclaimed as the national philosophy of Brunei on the day of its independence on January 1, 1984 by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. MIB is described as "a blend of Malay language, culture and Malay customs, the teaching of Islamic laws and values and the monarchy system which must be esteemed and practiced by all" Bruneis culture is therefore deeply rooted in its Malay origins, which are reflected in the nations language, architecture, ceremonies, and customs governing daily life. If Malay traditions are Bruneis cultural root, then Islam is its heart. While Brunei is indeed a devoutly Muslim country, the national philosophy is one of respectful tolerance, allowing for the practice of other religions and beliefs. Brunei is ruled according to the national philosophy of the Malay Islamic Monarchy. Bruneians practice a devout but tolerant brand of Islam, which encompasses sincere respect and devotion, while still remaining open to other faiths and beliefs. Modern scholars date the spread of Islam to Brunei Darussalam to the late 13th century. As Islam is the foundation for the life of the average Bruneian, many of the nations cultural practices and customs are intrinsically linked with religion. Aesthetically, Islam introduced important architectural features such as the ubiquitous mosques and art styles such as the ...

Labuan - Water Village Traditional Living
Duration : 84 Seconds

This is Kampung Air Patau Patau 2, established in the 1930s; the whole village was wiped out by a Japanese bomb during WWII. The resilient villagers rebuilt the village from scratch once the war was over. The architecture and concept of the water village dates back to their ancestors in Brunei. To this day, the water village residents incorporate their Kedayan Bruneian culture and customs into their daily lives. Lest you think that these homes are not for the sea-sick, you can be rest assured that the houses are remarkably stable even the ones that were built over 60 years ago. The secret was in the belian wood used as the houses foundation which can stand strong for centuries to come. The friendly host families will be all too glad to serve you with some of their traditional delicacies including ambuyat, traditional Bruneian sago dish that goes well with a sour and spicy sambal dip made with young mangoes, chilli and dried shrimps. In the afternoons, you can observe the village children playing kites or if you so fancy, indulge in catching a fish right at your homes backyard for a nominal fee, of course. Imagine relaxing on the wooden bench, a cup of coffee in one hand and a fishing line in the other. Every so often, your line heaves and strains. When you excitedly pull it up 9 times out of 10, it will be a catfish rather than some old discarded clothing. Traditional dance performances can also be arranged upon request and you can definitely participate in some fun ...

philippine civilization(mahardlika)
Duration : 278 Seconds

the kingom of Tondo(like many other pre spanish civilizations), also referred to as Tundo, Tundun, Tundok, (Chinese characters: 東都) was a Philippine fortified kingdom whose capital was located in the Manila Bay area, specifically north of the Pasig river, on Luzon island. It is one of the settlements mentioned by the Philippines' earliest historical record, the Laguna Copperplate Inscription. Originally an Indianized kingdom in the 10th century, Tondo initiated diplomatic ties with China during the Ming Dynasty, and thus became a dominant force in regional trade.Tondo became so prosperous that around the year 1500 AD, the Kingdom of Brunei under Sultan Bolkiah merged it by a royal marriage of Gat Lontok, who later became Rajah of Namayan and Dayang Kaylangitan to established a city with the Malay name of Selurong (later to become the city of Maynila ) with the arrival of the spaniards, came destruction over the land. the stone walls ripped , buildings burned, written records destroyed, filipino identity lost.
