My all time favourite song. From Wiki: "Manhã de Carnaval" (trad. En: "Morning of Carnival"), is the title of the most popular song by Brazilian composers Luiz Bonfá and Antonio Maria. It appeared in the 1959 Portuguese-language film Orfeu Negro (English titled: Black Orpheus), by French director Marcel Camus and based on a play by Vinícius de Moraes. Particularly in the USA, the song is considered to be one of the most important Brazilian Jazz/Bossa songs that helped establish the Bossa Nova movement in the late 1950s. Manhã de Carnaval has become a jazz standard in the USA, while it is still performed regularly by a wide variety of musicians around the world in its vocalized version or just as an instrumental one". The music of Black Orpheus brought significant popularity of the emerging Brazilian music which led to cool Bossa Nova popularized by Antônio Carlos Jobim, Vinicius de Moraes, João Gilberto and later Sergio Mendes. I simply love this song for its melancholy. A sense of of emptiness, and "is there all there is" in the Morning and Morning after the Carnival. Life is nothing but a Cabaret, old Chum. Best effort Portugese on my part. It is as good as my Japanese but NO ONE to beat me over my head with, she knows who she is!!!!! But I have been to both Brazil and Japan, so at least i have smelled their soil, tasted their foods and looked at the Girls of Ipanema.

Decided to sing this song because of how I've been feeling lately... But after some time in prayer, some time on my own, and some time with friends that cared, making and editing this video was a real joy (music is therapy). I was excited to make this because this was my very first video I edited with split-screen (The other split-screen videos I've been in have been edited by the others). Thanks to the help of my good friend, Andrew Rose (twitter: @andrewrose_prod) who has taken HOURS (yes hours) out of his work evenings to just teach me how to use Final Cut Pro, I have learned how to make basic split-screen videos which is something I have always wanted to learn. This is my rendition of Beyonce's "I Miss You" which is a song that was written by the bold and talented, Frank Ocean. I decided to flip it around by adding a touch of classical guitar with a tidbit influence of bossa nova (a genre of music from Brazil which is one of my favorite things to listen to!).
