"COLD WATER" KILLS MILLIONS OF FISH AND ALLIGATORS IN BOLIVIA 8-7-2010
Duration : 145 Seconds

Scientist Threatened by Government: www.youtube.com Here's why this happened: edition.cnn.com Over 1 million fish and thousands of alligators, turtles, dolphins and other river wildlife are floating dead in numerous Bolivian rivers in the three eastern/southern departments of Santa Cruz, Beni and Tarija. The extreme COLD WATER that hit Bolivia in mid-July caused water quality to dip below the minimum standards river life can tolerate. As a consequence, rivers, lakes, lagoons and fisheries are brimming with decomposing fish and other creatures. Unprecedented: Nothing like this has ever been seen in this magnitude in Bolivia. Inhabitants of riverside communities report the smell is nauseating and can be detected as far as a kilometer away from river banks. River communities, whose livelihoods depend on fishing, fear they'll run out of food and will have nothing to sell. Authorities are concerned there will be a shortage of fish in markets and are more concerned by possible threats to public health, especially in communities that also use river water for bathing and drinking, but also fear contaminated or decaying fish may end up in market stalls. They've begun a campaign to ensure market vendors and the public know how to tell the difference between fresh and unhealthy fish.

Bolivia Sin Fronteras @ Thames Festival Night Carnival 2010
Duration : 114 Seconds

Mayor's Thames Festival 2010 helenevent.blogspot.com The banks of the River Thames was thronged with people on Sunday as the thirteenth Mayor's Thames Festival got underway. The festival is split into four zones, running between Westminster Bridge to Tower Bridge "and beyond", though in this case "beyond" really means St. Katherine Docks. Here are some of the highlights Carnival: Come nightfall on the Sunday, 2000 musicians and dancers will take to the streets, travelling along Victoria Embankment and then over a traffic-free Blackfriars Bridge. The Feast on the Bridge: Dubbed London's "most inspiring and spectacular food event" by organisers, this event sees Southwark Bridge closed to traffic and festooned with market food sellers, musicians, and a hand-powered cinema for the evening finale. River Parade: On Saturday afternoon a parade of vessels large and small, old and new, will set out from the QE2 pier and chug as far as Lambeth Bridge before turning back.

Bolivians Displaced by Record Rainfall
Duration : 94 Seconds

For more news visit ☛ english.ntdtv.com or Follow us on Twitter ☛ http Bolivians are forced from their homes as flood waters rise amid record rainfall. But more rain is expected to come. Record rainfall has affected thousands of residents over the past few days in Bolivia. But on Thursday the national weather service said that the rain will continue to plague already flooded regions until mid-March. One of the worst affected areas is the tropical El Chapare province in central Bolivia. Rain continued to fall and flood waters have reached almost 7 feet as the Chapare River spilled over its banks. Residents tried to salvage belongings from their flooded houses, but others were too late as rushing water made roads and walkways impassable. [Unidentified Flood Victim]: "Everything is covered in water. What am I going to do? I wasn't able to save very much of my stuff." The situation took a turn for the worse in the Villa Tunari municipality where lawmakers petitioned to shut schools for at least a week. [Feliciano Mamani, Mayor of Villa Tunari]: "Everything is completely flooded. We are evacuating the homes, saving the people and salvaging some of their things." The area has been one of the hardest hit and local governments are already concerned with the aftermath and the threat of mosquito-born illnesses. The rain is threatening large areas of the country with reports of evacuations in the capital of La Paz.

Banks Buying Bullion, Dollar Destruction and the Fight for Gold
Duration : 243 Seconds

www.bloomberg.com l relaying an article I felt contained important information about the dollars declining value, big banks and big countries buying up gold and silver along with citizens. Please comment, rate and SUBSCRIBE. Thanks!! Fair use of article. I ask you read it yourself but it states here in that "In 2010, central banks became net buyers for the first time in two decades, adding 87 metric tons in official-sector purchases by countries including Bolivia, Sri Lanka and Mauritius", according to World Gold Council data. So basically this is a sign that even the big banks are scared of the dollars steady decline of around 11 percent. Which is why it is my own personal belief that every American should be investing and diversifying their wealth rather then just holding dollars. The central banks are hedging against the dollar so should 'WE THE PEOPLE". Insure your future and invest in gold and silver or other precious metals if you can. For example new 60 inch big screen or 40 oz.'s of silver, what sounds like a more sound investment to you, that will ultimately increase in value and make you more wealthy. The price of 1 oz. of silver is at this time right around 48 dollars per ounce, the average price of an oz. of high grade marijuana on the street is 400 bucks and people will buy it so it is just about making moral decisions and knowing how to be conscious of how you are spending your money. And I know a lot of people use marijuana as a medicine so by no means am I ...

Visita Bolivia Mamor River
Duration : 421 Seconds

Visit Bolivia Visita Bolivia Besuchen Sie Bolivien River in north-central Bolivia. It is formed by headwaters, chiefly the Grande River, which arise in Andean cordilleras and drain the Moxos (Mojos) plain, an ancient lake bed. The Mamoré meanders generally northward to the Brazilian border, at which point it is joined by the Iténez River (Portuguese: Guaporé). It constitutes the Bolivia-Brazil frontier as far north as Villa Bella, where it joins the Beni River to form the Madeira. The Mamorés importance as a transport route is diminished by the presence of rapids, but the river is navigable through the Moxos plain and tropical forest to Guajará-Mirim, Brazil, the southern terminus of the now-defunct Madeira-Mamoré Railway. Numerous indigenous communities inhabit the banks of the river. Tourism has increased along parts of the river, with nearby towns offering boat cruises.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid Museum
Duration : 102 Seconds

ZHANG: And a Bolivian mining town hopes to cash in on the deaths of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid 100 years ago. The town's museum is dedicated to the facts and legends surrounding the lives of the notorious duo. STORY: It was a movie that captured the imagination of generations - the story of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford. And now the Bolivian town of San Vicente is hoping to cash in on its connection to the infamous duo - 100 years after the two met their bloody end on November 7, 1908. Felix Chalar, a local expert on the bandits, hopes the museum dedicated to the bandit's legend will attract tourists. [Felix Chalar, Local Bandit Expert]: "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were train and bank robbers, but they weren't poor and nor were they murderers." The famous outlaws made their last stand here in San Vicente, their bodies were found in a small shack after a gunfight with Bolivian soldiers. Calixto Rizo lived in the area where the outlaws were killed and it's still a source of pride for his descendents. [Vicente Rizo, Grandson of Calixto]: "This fills us with happiness. I know that anyone who lives in the mining camp and in the town of San Vicente would feel proud to have someone who knows the details of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid." Butch and Sundance robbed banks and trains from Colorado to Wyoming in the late 1800s. Attracted by the lure of the silver-rich mines, legend has it they robbed the Aramayo ...

Flooding in Bolivia Worsens
Duration : 61 Seconds

WONG: Bolivia is now in state of emergency as floods worsen, destroying crops, homes and people's lives. Residents fear it might get even worse in the typically rainy month of February. Here's more. STORY: Heavy rains continue to flood much of Bolivia, just days after international aid organizations pledged support. People in the province of Santa Cruz were driven out of their homes. They are staying in tents waiting for the rain to stop. Residents found a corpse in the river, bringing the death toll up to 31 people, since the heavy rains started last November. In La Paz, rains kept lashing the Andean steppe. [Gerardo Valero, Flood Victim]: "Everything is flooded. I lived in these rooms. All my things were here and now I have nothing. I've practically been left with nothing. All my children's clothes, the roosters are dead too." Last week, mudslides destroyed several homes in the La Paz area. Rushing waters killed a father and son in the city's wealthy southern district. Residents have to ration the water after parts of an aqueduct were washed out. Secretary General, Alejandro Toledo is collecting donations for the flood victims and is preparing for the worse. [Alejandro Toledo, Secretary General of La Paz]: "We have identified more than three thousand families, but we think when February comes this excessive rain is going to get more intense. We think the number is going to go up. We hope not, but we need to be prepared." Outside La Paz, men work to keep a river from ...
