Takin La Zoo
Duration : 40 Seconds

The Takin (pronounced /ˈtɑːkɪn/, Budorcas taxicolor), is a goat-antelope found in the Eastern Himalayas. There are four subspecies: B. taxicolor taxicolor, the Mishmi Takin; B. taxicolor bedfordi, the Shanxi or Golden Takin; B. taxicolor tibetana, the Tibetan or Sichuan Takin; and B. taxicolor whitei, the Bhutan Takin. Mitochondrial research[2] shows that takin are related to sheep, its similarity to the muskox being an example of convergent evolution. The takin is the national animal of Bhutan.

New Bhutanese Song - sneak preview
Duration : 59 Seconds

This is a sneak preview of a song composed by a boy of 9th grade from remote eastern Bhutan. It is a familiar tune but it's very new and I think it's a cool song. We are in the process of producing an album which will be out in the market in about 2 months time. I use FL Studio, Adobe Audition and several VSTs. I have a midi controller keyboard(M-audio), Akai MPD-16 midi drum controller, a dramnyen, a guitar and a banjo. My other works: Wangdue Tshechu(2004) & Aa la la Ngesem (2007). Happy Listening)

Long March Home - Bhutan
Duration : 780 Seconds

October 2007 Why did India open fire on thousands of Bhutanese refugees, trying to cross peacefully into India on their way home? This investigation includes rare footage of the shooting. Shouting "Bhutan is our homeland", thousands of refugees attempt to stream across the Nepal-India border to go home to Bhutan. But the area is soon flooded with Indian security guards and shots ring out. Two people are killed and hundreds wounded. These Hindu refugees are descendents from the Nepalese who settled in Bhutan centuries ago. But most of the population of Bhutan are Buddhist. In 1990, the King suddenly withdrew the Hindus' citizenship and forced them out. India allowed them safe passage to reach Nepal but now refuses to let them return to Bhutan. As one man laments: "We are living a life that is worse than that of animals".
