FASHION A common sight if you take a walk in Thimphu town is older people in national attires and youngsters in western attires with spiky, coloured hair. Through our documentary film, we tried to show the differences between these two groups of people in our country. On one hand, we have the older people who still believe in age-old traditions and on the other hand, the youngsters who, instead of embracing and following our own national culture and traditions, is adopting various other cultures. Through our documentary on fashion, we tried to make people aware of three things which are: 1. The depletion of tradition and culture 2. The ignorance of youth today regarding our own cultures and traditions 3. And the generation gap between the old and the young in ways of behaving, dressing, speech, etc. The older people and the younger ones find it hard to understand each other. So, we hope that our film will make people aware of our culture and traditions that are fast depleting and that we will each do our share to preserve and promote them.
