With the beautiful coral formations offshore, lush seagrass beds in the extensive lagoons and thick mangrove stands along the shores this area abounds with biodiversity. Volunteers can participate in mangrove studies, manatee monitoring and rehabilitation, seagrass surveys and dive to monitor the corals and fish on the Belize Barrier Reef, a Natural World Heritage Site.
