This project comes from a small village in the interior of Barbados where a group of community people have formed a CBO to focus on sustainable farming activities. The goal of the project is "to create a community aquaponics enterprise which sells aquaponics technology and produces organic food and fish for local consumption and sale". The objectives are to: (i) "develop and promote sound standards and a certification process for an aquaponics industry in Barbados"; (ii) develop the capacity of the Baird's Village Aquaponics Association (BVAA) in the areas of organisational development, management and good governance in order to build a strong and cohesive group; (iii) establish and manage nine production units and one demonstration farm which will produce organic produce and fish for local consumption and sale; and (iv) develop and implement a production, sales and marketing strategy which will transform the BVAA into a successful small business enterprise.

That safety came in the form of Sanctuary One, where our rockstar intern Caroline has helped nurse and nurture him literally since day one. While the two are practically inseparable, Bryan is also learning to live and love with the non-human animals of Sanctuary One. And yes, he is in fact the most adorable creature ever. Sanctuary One at Double Oak Farm is the first care farm in Southern Oregon. Care farms are farms where people, animals, and the earth work together for mutual healing.

Genuia Gogg Farm is a Black Belly Sheep Farm located at Cane Garden St.Thomas Barbados. The Black Belly Sheep is a prolific breeder best fed on Sugar Cane tops and grass with lean meat low in fat. Synthetic feeding has shown to increase fat content of meat. Most Barbadian chefs and hotels use this meat in local dishes because of it delicate taste. It is more expensive than imported mutton or lamb.

It is pulling/pushing Madrone Meadow's disc cultivator. The animals shown in the credits include several Moscovy and Mallard ducks, Dorper/Katahdin/Barbados ewes, our Dorper ram, and our Boer goat mama, Paprika and her sons, Pepper and Cinnamon.

This is an example of a small scale 1000 gallon indoor fish farm. These tilapia will take about 6 months to reach full size of about 1.5lbs. Our goal is to run enough tests with this small scale model to eventually commercialize it to a degree.

Our January "Jewel" was born today and has been adopted by our Australian Shepherd. She was an unexpected addition to our farm. We found her soon after birth, but she was quite cold so we brought her in to warm her up so she did not bond with her momma. She is now a bottle-fed baby and is being well cared for by Didj (The Aussie Shepherd),
