Assyrian - Babylonian Literature about UAE territory: Meluhha This video highlights chapter 6 of the leading article "Meluhha, Gerrha, and the UAE -- The Search for National Identity of a Young Nation" as per below. The chapter deals with the identification of the Assyrian -- Babylonian toponymics Tilmun (Bahrain), Magan (Qatar), and Meluhha (Emirates). Incorporating Meluhha and the Assyrian -- Babylonian references to it in their National Emirati History, today's Emiratis can achieve a more accurate and complete perception of their national identity and cultural heritage; that is why the present subject is vital for course of History offered in the Primary and Secondary Education at the UAE whereby the Ancient History of the UAE is gravely underestimated and disregarded. Meluhha, Gerrha, and the UAE -- The Search for National Identity of a Young Nation. A Predestination, and A Millennia Long Path of Global Trade and Wealth By Prof. Muhammad Shamsaddin Megalommatis The establishment of a nation's historical overview by the indigenous people and not foreign, colonial academia sets the real beginning of the national independence and self-determination. Mujtaba Barlas's mother reciting poetry
Duration : 281 Seconds

My friend Mujtaba Barlas's mother, Ms. Riffat Rahi, is a connoisseur of Urdu literature and, specially, classical Urdu poetry. She is the widow of the famous Urdu poet Mustafa Rahi, a soul-devotee and disciple of his eminence Jigar Muradabadi. Upon much insistence of the guests, and to her distinguished grace, she recited this beautiful Ghazal, written by her late husband. The occasion was a dinner hosted recently in her honour at Noor Pathan's residence. Noor Pathan is another lover and great supporter of Urdu literature in Bahrain. I am sharing this video on YouTube with the permission of Ms. Riffat's Bahrain-based son, Mujtaba Barlas. I hope, like me, you will also treasure it as a relic from the fast diminishing literary and cultural traditions.

American Hip Hop Artists Visit Bahrain
Duration : 72 Seconds

The US Embassy sponsored the visit of American hip-hop artists Edan Portnoy and Paten Locke in Bahrain from April 4-7. The artists performed at the Unif1ed stage in Seef Mall and Al-Riwaq Gallery's Bohemian building. Additionally they conducted an interactive workshop with Bahraini youth where they discussed the history of dee-jaying and hip-hop culture and showed participants some basic techniques including scratching and back-spinning. Edan is known for his unlikely take on hip-hop culture, where traditional rap songs are often skewed by 60's rock samples, tape echoes, and foreign language choruses. His latest mega-mix, entitled 'Echo Party', is an astounding mix of dance, rap, and punk that utilizes everything from turntables to tape echo, glockenspiel to guitar, and moog to kazoo. Paten Locke has his own spin on Hip Hop culture. Based in Jacksonville, Florida, Paten recently debuted his first solo album.
