The Azerbaijani carpet has experienced a long history. In carpet patterns the people embodied its artistic talents,philosophic outlooks, and spiritual notions about beauty. İnformation on Azerbaijani carpets can be found in various historical sources written by the ancient Greek historians Heredotus and Xenophon (5th c. BC), the Caucasian Albanian historian Moises Kalankatuski (7th c. BC), the Chinese traveller Xuan Tes-Ank, the Arabian travelers Al-Movsudi, Al-Mugaddasi, and Al-Istehri. Carpet weaving is closely connected with the daily life and customs of the communities involved, its role reflected in the meaning of the designs and their applications. Thus, girls seated on carpets tell fortunes and sing traditional songs at Novruz (the regional New Year). The carpet is widely used for home furniture and decoration, and special carpets are woven for medical treatment, for wedding ceremonies, the birth of a child, mourning rituals and prayer. As early as the Midlle Ages, Azerbaijani carpets were exported to foreign markets. In the 14th century they were exported to Europe. The carpets were represented in canvas by İtalian, Dutc and Flemish painters of the 14th-18th cc., for example, in Hans Memling's "Maria with the Child" and the Hans Holbein's "Ambassadors" (16th c.); Carlo Crivello's "Announcement" (15 th c.). Haj Sheikh Bath, Ardabil: It is located in Ali Qapoo Alley in the city of Ardabil. Its entrance is simple but beautifully decorated and has a globular dome. It has different parts with eye-catching adornments. There are two large alcoves inside the bath. It is estimated that the bath is 300 years old. Peer (Haj Rahim) Bath, Ardabil: This bath is located in Sarcheshmeh locality in Ardabil. Its vestibule and entrance have been changed but the rest of the parts have preserved their old style with cloak room and other segments. Peer Abdol Malek (Mirza Habib) Bath, Ardabil: This bath is located in a locality with the same name. Its cloak room is quadripartite with a small dome. There is a platform between the cloak room and the inside of the bath, for temperature control in these two parts. It is very well decorated with paintings and other adornments. Peer Zargar Bath, Ardabil: This bath has a simple entrance door and corridor. But the cloak room has preserved its old shape. This bath has several platforms, an alcove, stone-floor, and an octagonal pool with four stony arms that ends to the cloak room by a small step. There are several old paintings on the wall around the bath. Uch dokan Bath, Ardabil: This bath is located in the Uch dokan locality. Its vestibule is a hexagonal area with six mantels. It features decorative tiles, fountains and several stained-glass windows. The exterior is decorated with dark blue, turquoise and ochre tiles in geometric patterns and the murals were coloured with tempera and are inspired by the works of Nizami Ganjavi....... Along with its pool and plane trees, the summer residence is the only remaining structure from the larger palatial complex inside the Sheki Khans' Fortress, which once included a winter palace, residences for the Khan's family and servants' quarters. It was built in 1797 by Muhammed Hasan Khan and restored between 1952 and 1967 by a team lead of architects led by Niyazi Rzayev...... Measuring thirty-two meters by eight and a half meters on the exterior, the summer residence is a two-story masonry structure elongated on the north-south axis and covered with a wooden hipped roof with long eaves. The layout of both floors is identical; three rectangular rooms are placed in a row, separated by narrow, south-facing iwans that provide access to the rooms. Habil Aliyev (born in 1927) is one of those legendary musicians who personify the best traditions of a nation's culture in the consciousness of its people. Ancient Azerbaijan musical instrument - Tar. According to its technical and dynamic capabilities, the contemporary tar is considered to be the most improved of the Azerbaijani string instruments. Uzeyir Hajibeyov wrote the following about the technical and acoustic capabilities of the instrument: "The tar is the most important and the most valuable of instruments in Eastern musical education." In Persian, the word "tar" means "string" or "wire". Like other musical instruments, the contemporary tar was formed on the basis of its predecessors and has followed a long path of development and improvement. The tar is referred to in the works of medieval classical poets such as Gatran Tabrizi, Nizami Ganjavi and Mohammad Fuzuli. The tar is mentioned in Nizami Ganjavi's "Iskandarname": Singer, play the tar one more night, Give me relief from this torment! Maybe a way will open for me, Maybe I can get free of this place.
