Zeljko was so deeply impressed with Safuras song Drip Drop and her talent that he decided to go out of the line and record this astounding duet version of the song. His vision was to give Drip Drop a new incarnation by adding the unique unmatched Balkan romantic sound and overtones. The Balkan Drip Drop is a ballad that tells quite a different story than before. Zeljkos voice in it is a cry of the man that Safura sings and dreams about. ABOUT THE FILM The story of The Precinct inhabits an interesting cross of genres the uncanny with the mysterious which throws an intense focus on the dilemmas and pressures on contemporary relationships. The setting is Baku which itself is of interest to an international audience, as there are very few cinematic windows into this culture that have the strength of storytelling to be able to travel abroad. This is a classic story of a man whose past prevents him from fully inhabiting the present. The set-up soon dives into a mysterious realm within a Precinct where everything is suggested and nothing revealed establishing dramatic tension and preparation for the twist in time that slowly unravels a past that reveals the main character's personal trauma. This past carries an authentic view on early photography in Azerbaijan, which also adds to the story's appeal. (Clare Downs) During the Independent Film-makers' Association South Caucasus (IFA-SC) workshop in Georgia, I had the opportunity to read the screenplay of the film The Precinct written and to be directed by Ilgar Safat that your company developed and intend to produce. FILM 5 AZERBAIJAN'S President Heydar Aliyev announced that an attempted palace coup against him had failed; apparently ending days of tension that threatened to thwart a recently signed $7-billion oil deal with Western investors. In a speech broadcast on national television, President Aliyev told a crowd of thousands he had called to support him outside the presidential palace in the capital of Baku that the political crisis in the Transcaucasia state was over. ``I chose the path of making the use of all my means and experience in order to overcome these difficulties by peaceful means alone,'' he said. ``I am very pleased that these measures produced results and that we have now eliminated the tension.'' Interior Ministry officials announced later that government troops had reclaimed the airport and other buildings in the city of Ganja, about 188 miles northwest of Baku. Ganja is the power base of Prime Minister Surat Guseynov, whom Aliyev has accused of masterminding the coup against him along with Mahir and Rovshan Djavadovs. Mr. Guseynov denies the charges. The drama began late last after the double-murder of two men close to Aliyev - Deputy Parliament Speaker Afiyaddin Jalilov and security chief Shamsi Ragimov - and the escape from prison of a number of Aliyev's opponents.

Imdb: A couple of friends from Tbilisi take a trip to buy some drugs and end up in a war zone. They're captured first by the Azerbaijani militants and then one of them is "rescued" by the Armenians. Ethnic conflict comes under heavy scrutiny and Tutberidze is not presumptuous enough to offer any answers. That and the realism of the characters keep the film afloat, but just barely. It's bogged down by flashbacks to the main character's relationships with his father and with a depressive prostitute (the typecast Nutsa Kukhianidze) that don't have any bearing on the story and don't offer any additional information about his character, and by a ghastly Muzak score that threatens to demolish every scene it intrudes upon.
