3rd Austrian Poetry Slam Championship 23./24.10.2009 @ Posthof, Linz A Poetry Slam is a competition which has participants vying for the favour of the audience using only their own material. The slammers have five minutes in which to win over the hearts of the audience with their texts. How they deliver them is up to them: shouting, whispering, howling, panting anything to give wings to their words. Admissible genres are story telling, Spoken Word, cabaret, HipHopAffines, linguistic experiments, dialect poetry, onomatopoeia in short, Slam Poetry. The audience share the thrill of it all, take in every detail and ultimately decide who is the winner.

I had already had the concept for "OPTIX" as well as the new poems, but after the incredible energy I heard on the entire Austrian recording, I decided to combine two CDs into one. Why shouldn't I give you as much as possible?! I wanted to give you the new work plus a new energy applied to the former work, due in part to my maturation, but more so due to a powerful crowd in a country that takes art and literature very seriously. All of the Live tracks were recorded on April 29, 2011 during the wonderful and warm host, Isabella Schrammel's "Music & Poetry Basket." The show takes place at one of Austria's most world known spaces called Cafe Korb where Arthur Miller and Andy Warhol used to frequent and Sigmund Freud once counseled clients. I also got to meet Cafe Korb's owner Susanne Widl, a famous actress, model and performance artist from the '60s. My host, Ms. Schrammel made sure I was taken care of throughout my time in Austria. She also told me I had the honor of being the inspiration for her organization ...
