The World´s best bodypainters met this week (12-18 July 2010) on Lake Millstättersee (Carinthia/Austria) to compete in the „World Bodypainting Awards". The artform that combines dance, drama, painting and photography together to create boundry breaking art was the reason for thousands of artists to converge on the small Austrian town of Seeboden. The WBF Institute of Sounds plays a large role in the direction of the festivals performances. On the amazing scenery of Lake Millstättersee the 13th World Bodypainting Festival was held between the 12th and 18th of July. This year the main highlight was again the title of World Bodypainting Champion in different categories for which over 200 artists from over 40 countries competed. „It was incredibly impressive to see the passion and professionalism with which these artists create their artworks" said organizer Alex Barendregt. True to the themes „Sources of Power" & „Sub Cultures" the visitors were presented with powerful stage performances each day. The new World Champions got the World-Awards late in the night on Sunday. The „World Bodypainting Festival" is happy to announce an annual growth in the number of visitors to the event. In this year over 28.000 Festival fans were counted in Seeboden. Falco´s last live personal interview with me at the Pentecost Picnic 1997 FALCO, Austrian singer, songwriter, composer, still alive ! at a personal talk-situation with me...on a springtime-trip to Hermann Nitsch "PFINGSTFEST in PRINZENDORF".... Pentecost Picnic 1997: I asked FALCO, whether he knew any rich Austrian citizens who built nice villas in the Dominican Republic and who should purchase some of my paintings for their homes. Falco said, that the really rich live in Southern France , which is another "Baustelle" , meaning that is something more upper-class, different kind of people than those in the Dominican Republic.... He told me that he would still need to build up his living structures and the "residencia", residence permit for himself. FALCO expressed the opinion that the famous 80-year-old Austrian painter Ernst Fuchs would be something for the people there... I asked him if he still had the 4 red paintings by Hermann Nitsch (the artist with the grey beard in front of the blue truck) and he told me that he still had them in his appartement in Vienna, but now in his house in Gars am Kamp , WALDVIERTEL, Lower Austria . So I went away angrily as he never bought any of my artworks....

The two magnificient palaces on the Belvedere grounds lie in the middle of a splendid park. They were constructed for Prince Eugene of Savoy by JL von Hildebrandt, a famous Baroque architect. At this time the Belvedere Palaces were still located outside Vienna's defences, but today they are a part of Vienna`s third district which is not far away from the very centre of Vienna. The Palaces' architecture and interior design are in Rococo. Both of the palaces house museums of Austrian painting. In the lower palace the "Österreichisches Barockmuseum" (Austrian Museum of Baroque Art) displays Austrian Art of the 18th century. In the upper palace you can visit the Austrian gallery with a collection of 19th- and 20th-century Austrian paintings. There, you can find works of artist of the Secession movement such as Gustav Klimt (1867-1918), Egon Schiele (1890-1918) or Oskar Kokoschka (1886-1980). His father did not wish him to become a composer, but rather a banker; however, the son defied his father's wishes, and went on to study music with the composer Joseph Drechsler and the violin with Anton Kollmann, the ballet répétiteur of the Vienna Court Opera. Strauss had two younger brothers, Josef and Eduard Strauss, who became composers of light music as well, although they were never as well-known as their elder brother. He grew up in the 19th disctrict of Vienna, Breitenseer Strasze 2. (Throughout his life, he never left this home for a longer period of time) His gift for fine arts already became apparent at an early age. He went to the Academy of Fine Arts from 1877 to 1882, where he studied under Prof. Blaas with much success and was awarded the Golden Fügermedal in 1880. He made several study trips to Italy, later he practised fresco, paintings in churches and portraits. He developed a special interest in genre pictures, ideal depictions of women and cupids At the age of 26 he got his first significant, public engagement: the ceiling fresco at "Kurhaus Baden" in the vicinity of Vienna. Depicted was "The Naiad of Baden" (originally called "Badener Quellennymphe") with cupids and historical inscriptions. Hans Zatzka lived on religious art, the painting of churches and altarpieces.
