Taste of the World: Armenia is the first in a series of cultural festivals taking place at the outdoor courtyard of the Paseo Colorado in Pasadena. Admission to the festival is free and will highlight the music, dance, food and artistry of Armenia. The festival will take place Saturday and Sunday (May 15th & 16th, 2010) and will be hosted by KCRWs Tom Schnabel. It will feature live musicians performing Armenian folk, classical, jazz, and contemporary pop along with award-winning dance troupes and childrens entertainment. During the festival, attendees will also have the opportunity to sample the incredible food of Armenia. Taste of the World: Armenia is sure to be a memorable event for festival-goers of all ages. The Irvine Global Village Festival is a one-day event presented annually by the City of Irvine, CA to showcase the diverse cultures of the residents of the city. There is no charge for admission. The dancers performed their main presentation on one of the several performance stages on the festival grounds. The video recording of this performance of the Alex Dance Academy began at approximately 9:57 AM. The Armenian information booth at the Global Village Festival was sponsored by the Orange County Armenian Festival, Inc., a qualified California tax-exempt public benefit corporation, founded in 2005 by non-affiliated volunteers as a pan-Armenian all-inclusive collaborative cultural and educational organization promoting goodwill and fellowship amongst the Armenian people and showcasing the Armenian culture to the broad American community in Southern California. All are welcome to attend. The Armenian Festival of Orange County is held annually on a Saturday and Sunday weekend nearest mid-September. One morning, at a rural hotel, he meets Gadarine (Lubna Azabal), an Armenian expatriate and photographer, who has returned home for the first time in years. There is an almost instant, unconscious bond between these two lonely travelers; they impulsively decide to continue together following a further chance encounter. Will ultimately starts to view the land as a source of faulty data, while Gadarine sees it as a way to redefine her relationship with her home. The cinematography in HERE is breathtaking as very few filmmakers have so vividly captured the scenic landscape of Armenia and Artsakh as refreshingly as HERE. The film premiered at the 2011 Sundance, Berlin and Golden Apricot Festivals and audience members will have an opportunity to engage in a question and answer session with the director in the cozy confines of Toronto's historic Regent Theatre following the screening.

After graduating from High school he entered Yerevan State University (Faculty of eastern languages, Arab department). Alexander has graduated bachelors degree with high honers and now he is a first year student in his masters program. Alexander has a wide range of interests; he likes languages, history, sports and music. Since early childhood he played chess and in 2003 he won Yerevan juniors competition. 4 years ago he started to play tar and everything became secondary for him. His musical education and talents are inherited from his father Hovik Sahakian, who is a professional musician/teacher, plays tar, duduk, saz, ud, kiamancha. Although Alexander has only played for past 4 years he actively participates in concerts and festivals, tours around Armenia. His concert performances always attract great audience attention and often make people cry. In 2007 during the Yerevan State annual Competition of folk instrumental music he won the first prize. In 2008 received a special award during the Folk song and dance Festival dedicated to the 75 anniversary of Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction. His last achievement is that he was invited to work with Sayat-Nova folk music ensemble.
