Iguazu Falls in HD - Argentina
Duration : 169 Seconds

**Watch in HD and FULL SCREEN** Footage from the Argentinian side of the Iguazu (Iguaçu Falls) during a December 2010 visit. The falls are one of the most spectacular places I've ever seen. Massive waterfalls that emerge from the jungle their beauty and presence is unparalleled. From Wikipedia: The waterfall system consists of 275 falls along 2.7 kilometres (1.7 mi) of the Iguazu River. Some of the individual falls are up to 82 metres (269 ft) in height, though the majority are about 64 metres (210 ft). The Devil's Throat (Garganta del Diablo in Spanish or Garganta do Diabo in Portuguese), a U-shaped, 82-meter-high, 150-meter-wide and 700-meter-long (490 by 2300 feet) cataract, is the most impressive of all, and marks the border between Argentina and Brazil. The Argentine side comprises three sections: the upper falls, the lower falls, and the Devil's Throat. If you'd like to learn more about the falls and my trip, please visit virtualwayfarer.com. Thank you for watching, and please subscribe! Footage was shot on a Vixia HF200

Cities - The Real Buenos Aires 2 of 2 - BBC Travel Documentary
Duration : 439 Seconds

Cities - The Real Buenos Aires 2 of 2 - BBC Travel Documentary, recorded 02.10.2010 To arrive in Buenos Aires is to find oneself somewhere at once deeply familiar and entirely new. Buenos Aires is sometimes called 'the Paris of the South' With its mix of old world charm and new world edginess, Buenos Aires has an electricity about it that is hard to describe, but impossible not to notice. Argentina began as a backwater of Spain's South American colonies but by the early 20th Century had risen to become one of the richest nations in the world. The expression 'rich as an Argentine' was bandied about in Europe, as boatloads of portenos landed on the continent - often with servants in tow - to do the grand tour. The city still lays claim to the title 'Paris of the South' and more than any other Latin American capital, Buenos Aires has traditionally looked to Europe - not just Spain, but France, England, Belgium and beyond. When the money from its rich farmlands poured into the coffers of the city's wealthiest families, they built Hausmannesque boulevards and slate-roofed mansions. Potent mix Many Argentines have their roots in Europe thanks to a push for immigration in the late 19th Century. In fact you'll hear as many Italian surnames here (Maradona being undoubtedly the most famous) as you will Spanish, with plenty of Swiss, German and Russian names mixed in. It's this potent mix of cultures that lends Buenos Aires its distinctly cosmopolitan feel. It's also this mongrel ...

PATAGONIA Argentina
Duration : 1554 Seconds

Patagonia is a land of endless plains, a fantastic world of ice and rock but also a land of powerful winds and distant dreams. Our journey begins in the deepest south of Argentina, at the 'End of the World' within a natural paradise between both sky and earth. In the Tierra del Fuego region, Ushuaia is known as the Gateway to Antarctica and is a small town that has experienced a great boom in recent years. It is difficult to believe that not so long ago, nothing but the wooden huts of Anglican missionaries stood there and 400 criminals were forced to build a prison. The Tierra del Fuego National Park was founded in 1960 and is very accessible. The Rio Pipo snakes through the varied landscape and more than 60000 hectares cover the border with Chile surrounded by snow covered mountains that survey the land below. By boat we travel to the impressive Glaciar Grey at the southern end of the Patagonian Ice Field, where the ice masses of the glacier meet the waters of the lake and huge chunks of floating ice slowly break away in dramatic fashion. Patagonia is one of the oldest landscapes on Earth, a beautiful world of rock and savannah created out of fire, water, wind and ice and subject to constant change.
